At andersenoutdoor.com, we want to contribute to children having as many hours of outdoor play as possible. It strengthens the child's learning ability, motor skills, and confidence, and provides lots of laughter and good times. Quality clothing is the basis for good experiences outside. It starts with the clothes that are closest to our body.
What is more conducive to being outside when it's cold, than the child being able to stay warm? There are plenty of hours of developmental play in being outside when it's raining, or when it's snowing and really cold. There are very few reasons to go indoors. In fact, we can only think of 2 reasons:
The first reason would be if the child (or the adult accompanying them) is cold and at risk of getting sick. The second reason is that the day is over and it's time for food and rest.
The first reason can always be addressed, and there is no reason to believe otherwise, than that the good old 3-layer principle also applies to children.

So the skin closest to the body should be dry with the help of a good set of breathable underwear, the middle layer should be well insulated and warm, and the outer layer should keep wind and water out.
The underwear can be merino wool for children as well as for adults - and yes, your child can like wool!
If you are unsure about how to choose underwear for your child, do not hesitate to contact us. We are here for you - and we have children ourselves!
