Sea to Summit Glow GwII Synthetic Quilt Midnight Dark Blue.
The fiber sleeping bag is a classic and the first type of sleeping bag that came on the market many years ago. It is loved for its good qualities and can be made cheaper than equivalent warm down sleeping bags. That's always nice.
Pay attention to the quality of the sleeping bag you choose, because there are many different brands on the market, in many different qualities.
It is quite simple to check the quality of a fiber sleeping bag, no matter where you look at it. Just notice the weight of it and compare it with the degrees of warmth it offers. If it is a good quality of fibers used in the bag, even a lighter sleeping bag can keep you warm. A lower quality of fibers requires more volume, making the sleeping bag correspondingly heavier for the same warmth.
The advantages of a fiber sleeping bag are many and let's start with the price. It is almost always lower than an equivalent warm down sleeping bag, so that's a good place to start.
When we take the most modern fiber sleeping bags from the most innovative companies, there is actually not that big of a difference in weight and pack volume between a fiber sleeping bag and a down sleeping bag. We can be a little proud that it is Danish Nordisk that is at the forefront right now. They use the latest fibers to make sleeping bags of very high quality - with low weight.
A fiber sleeping bag is more resistant to moisture than a down sleeping bag - that's old news. If you have tried lying in a wet fiber sleeping bag for half a night, you might laugh a little at that statement. There is not much fun in lying in a wet bag, fiber or not.
It is more the moisture that can come on a sleeping bag from the dew or from the inside of a tent that is in question. It can build up on a down sleeping bag, causing the feathers to clump together and not provide the warmth they should. The fibers in a bag are not so sensitive to that kind of moisture.
